South Hills Senior Named to U.S. Presidential Scholars Program

Greta Zhong, a graduating senior at South Hills High School has been selected as a candidate for the United States Presidential Scholars Program. This award is one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students. This prestigious program acknowledges outstanding achievement and excellence in education with a focus in the areas of academic and artistic success, leadership, and involvement in school and the community. Ms. Zhong was chosen from an elite group of 560 semifinalists and is invited to participate in National Recognition Weekend to be held in Washington D.C. this June. During this visit she will be able to interact with both national and international leaders such as government officials, authors, and scientists as well as educators and musicians, and participate in discussions of matters of concern in America today. Ms. Zhong will also be honored to commemorate her achievements at a ceremony sponsored by the White House.  Our highest congratulations go to Greta Zhong for her excellence in education and character.
