Read Across America: Oh! The Places You'll Go!

The Cat in the Hat came back! Grovecenter Elementary School paid tribute to Theodore Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, with a school-wide read-a-thon. On Friday, March 1, students from kindergarten through fifth grade celebrated national Read Across America Day with reading related activities, crafts and good old reading fun. Students, teachers and parent volunteers gathered together to read while enjoying the outdoors. Young readers, some wearing pajamas, some donning crazy, red and white “Seussical” headwear,  laid out their favorite blankets, gathered together with their friends and set about enjoying the written word.  Upper grade students joined together with their lower grade buddies to share the joy of reading and learning, all in the name of the wonderful and inspiring Dr. Seuss.
