Every Picture Tells a Story

Combining creativity and innovation makes for art that tells a unique story. Northview High School students recently exhibited their remarkable photographs in the 23th Annual Citrus College Photography Competition at Citrus College. Northview exhibited 46 photos showing a wide range of personal expression and exclusive ideas that took home more awards than any of the high schools who entered this competition.  A first place award in the Scenic category went to Frankie Velasquez for “Wishes in the Wind”.  He also claimed a second place Campus Life award for “Cracks of Life”.  Aaron Ramirez also placed in the Campus Life division earning third place for “Attraction”.  In the Sports class, Thomas Advey took second place recognition for “Determination” while Ivy Gonzales captured honorable mention for her piece entitled “Homerun”.  Natalie Villalba and Chelsea Valdez-Gutierrez both received special acknowledgment in the creative art segment with Ms. Villalba obtaining third place for an untitled photo and Ms. Valdez-Gutierrez capturing honorable mention for “Eating Society”.  Other students from Mr. Grinnell’s CTE/Fine Art Photography class who exhibited their work included Thomas Advey, Michael Ahumada, Alessa Bermudez, Ivy Gonzales, Martha Diaz, Myguel Angelo Del Mundo, Devine Elizando, Reina Fuentes, Celest Gamez, Antonio LopezGarcia, Aaron Ramirez, Josephine Riggio, Nicholas Sanchez, Cecilia Valadez, Chelsea Valdez-Gutierrez, Frankie Velasquez, Natalie Villalba, and Bryant F. Yanez.Congratulations to all for their creative efforts.
