Covina-Valley Unified School District is proud to announce that Covina High School senior, Melissa Ortega, has been recognized by the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region XV as their recipient of the Every Student Succeeding Award. The Every Student Succeeding Award distinguishes, commends and honors remarkable students who have succeeded despite struggles, barriers, or challenges and also acknowledges the caring educators and dedicated professionals who have  helped these students accomplish their goals. In her nomination, Melissa credited the team of principal Claudia Karnoski, counselor Noelle D’Ingillo, and teachers Greg Gustafson, Sean Fox, Kevin Glaspy, and Matt Kearns as the school team that has supported her achievements at Covina High School. Melissa will be recognized at the ACSA Region XV Every Student Succeeding Luncheon, the ACSA Region XV Awards Banquet and the statewide ACSA Leadership Summit in San Jose this fall. We are very proud of Melissa’s accomplishments and bestow our highest congratulations.
