of the Year





Ms. Erika Pusey has been selected as the Covina-Valley Unified School District's Teacher of the Year for the 2015-16 school year. Ms. Pusey has been at Northview High School for 17 years, teaching English and serving as department chair. She is curious, intelligent, hard-working, resourceful, diligent, and compassionate. Erika runs a scholarship foundation for Northview students, is a class advisor, believes in every student, and is a resounding voice of encouragement for all students which is truly a key to their success. Erika will represent Covina-Valley in the Los Angeles County Office of Education's Teacher of the Year Program.
 

Classified Employee
of the Year





Ms. Mrs. Bobbie Melendrez has been chosen as the Covina-Valley Unified School District's Classified Employee of the Year for the 2015-16 school year. Bobbie has been a tremendous asset to Merwin Elementary and the community for the past 25 years. She puts her heart and soul into making each day a positive experience for the students and families. As the Home School Liaison, she works 1 on 1 with non-English speaking students, conferencing with parents, assisting with translating for teachers, and working in the classroom. She is also a dedicated member of the Covina-Valley Assistance League and has a colossal capacity for school and community service.
